Alexey has been working at the Institute since March 2013.
He coordinates and heads research and consulting projects for analysis and predictive modeling the Russian and world energy development. Alexey is responsible for the Institute's international projects in the energy sector, including participation in the Energy Dialogue between Russia and the EU, China, BRICS, OPEC, GECF, etc.
Education and professional experience
Alexey Gromov graduated from the Faculty of Geography, Lomonosov Moscow State University in 2001 with a degree in Economic Geography. In 2001-2005 he studied at the University of Paris 1, Pantheon-Sorbonne in the direction "Fuel and energy sector: problems of territorial organization and management." In 2004 he defended his Ph.D thesis.
In 2000-2005 - worked in a number of Russian and French companies as an invited expert-analyst on economic issues.
In 2005-2008 - worked as the Head of the Gas Industry Research Department at the Institute of Natural Monopolies Problems.
In 2008—2013 - Deputy Director General for Science at the Energy Strategy Institute.
Gromov took an active part in development of the Energy Strategy of Russia for the period up to 2030, draft General Scheme for the oil industry development up to 2035, as well as in development of the system of strategic models for the Russian oil industry development up to 2035.
He is an author, co-author and executive editor of 10 collective monographs and 80 articles, published in leading Russian and foreign economic publications.
