Belogoryev Alexey M. Research and Development Director, Director of the Center for Energy strategic analysis and forecasting

Alexey Belogoryev, Deputy Principal Director on Energy Studies of the Institute for Energy and Finance, commented to the Business FM radio station on the possibility of easing the price ceiling mechanism for Russian oil.

Most likely, we are talking about the purely technical side of the sanctions, Alexey Belogoryev says:

“The US and the EU authorities tried to shift the actual control over the observance of these sanctions, their execution to commercial structures, insurance companies, primarily, and companies that carry out freight and provide transportation. It is necessary to look at the further administration of the US Treasury, which usually prescribes in sufficient detail all the aspects of the implementation of such sanctions. But so far, I don’t see any easing of sanctions here, most likely, this is just a technical moment.”
