Sergey Kondratiev gave a comment to the radio station "Business FM" about the work of the Zaporizhzhya NPP.

Damage to the infrastructure, in particular high-voltage lines around the station, is an alarming sign. It is possible that the work of the Zaporizhzhya NPP will have to be stopped and the regions will be supplied from the Crimea, Sergey Kondratiev says:

“It seems to me that now a separate difficult question is how much electricity is needed for the Kherson and Zaporozhye regions, because large industrial enterprises, primarily steel plants, have been stopped in Zaporozhye, the volume of energy consumption is quite small. It seems to me that this is also evidenced by the fact that part of the power units at Zaporizhzhya is now put into reserve, there is no such demand that should have been in a normal economic situation. And under these conditions, it is possible to power consumers in the Kherson and Zaporozhye regions from Crimea, because there is excess capacity in Crimea thanks to the previously commissioned thermal power plant and an energy bridge from the Krasnodar Territory, because the alternative is power supply through the DPR. But, given that active hostilities, it is clear that it is now quite difficult to supply electricity from the Rostov region in transit through the DPR to these regions. In addition, it must be said that there are small thermal power plants on the territory of the Zaporozhye and Kherson regions, which can also be used. It was announced by the local authorities that the switching will take place. I think that this work is already underway, because this is a rather complicated and lengthy process, that these regions will be switched to work with the Russian energy system in a synchronous mode, because so far some of these regional energy systems work in a single mode with the Ukrainian energy system".
