Sergey Kondratiev, Deputy Head of the Economic Department of the Institute for Energy and Finance, commented to the radio station "Business FM" on the operation of the energy system of Ukraine.
“Partial recovery, as I understand it, is possible quite quickly, for example, in terms of switching to reserves. And in this sense, at some point, Ukraine may return to a balanced system. It will not quickly return to a surplus, because now a seasonal increase in consumption is beginning in Ukraine, it is not very large yet, but it will increase. Significant exports of electricity to Europe can indeed be stopped for a relatively long period, for several weeks. And if further strikes continue on the Ukrainian energy infrastructure, then, probably, Ukraine will live in a regime of rolling blackouts in the coming months.”
