Alexey Gromov, Principal Director on Energy Studies of the Institute for Energy and Finance, commented to Business FM on the prospects for the EU oil embargo against Russia.

Greece and other coastal countries oppose the ban on tanker oil. And it's not just that they depend on supplies. Greece itself also transports this raw material to other countries, Alexey Gromov comments.

“Greece also has a serious dependence, but not so much on the supply of Russian oil by sea, but on the transportation of Russian oil by Greek tankers. And here, too, one must understand that Greece is demanding that the European Union provide it with an exception in this matter and allow Greece to continue transporting Russian oil by Greek tankers, if not to the EU countries, but at least to other regions of the world. It should be recognized that Europe has significant problems with the coordination of any format of the oil embargo for all countries of the European Union,” the expert notes.
