Alexey Gromov, Principal Director on Energy Studies of the Institute for Energy and Finance, commented to the Business FM radio station on price volatility at the European gas market.
At the final press conference V.V. Putin recalled that Gazprom has increased the volume of fuel sales in the EU, and told how much they can earn in Europe from the resale of Russian gas
“Today the European gas market is in a state of extreme volatility. The situation on it is determined by stock speculators who either accelerate prices on negative news for the gas market, or, conversely, drop prices in the event of any positive news in terms of additional gas volumes that may come to Europe, or some positive news that Europe will face milder subsequent winter months. I am sure that the entire winter period will be like a roller coaster,” Alexey Gromov said.
