Belogoryev Alexey M. Research and Development Director, Director of the Center for Energy strategic analysis and forecasting

Alexey Belogoryev, Research and Development Director of the Institute for Energy and Finance, commented to Mash.Industry on the Russian exports prospects of natural gas deep processing products.

Ammonia is most often considered not as a final energy product, but as a relatively safe and cheap way to transport and store hydrogen, Alexey Belogoryev noted.

According to Alexey Belogoryev, under equal conditions, if we discard the unevenness of sanctions, the potential export of LNG remains significantly larger than the total possible export of gas chemical products in both monetary and physical terms. At the same time, carbamide or ammonia is much easier to provide by sea. In addition, being fertilizers, they have a potentially wider market compared to LNG, the expert believes.

However, there are no guarantees that exports of gas chemical products will not be subjected to comparable sanctions pressure, as well as LNG.
