Alexey Belogoryev, Deputy Principal Director on Energy Studies at the Institute for Energy and Finance, gave an interview to Regnum about Russia's energy relations with Moldova and Ukraine, as well as Ukraine and Belarus.
Gazprom does not disclose information about its contracts, we can only guess and hope for leaks from its counterparties, Alexey Belogoryev told.
Let us remind that on November 22 Gazprom announced through its representatives that gas supplies to Moldova could be stopped. Later, Gazprom announced its intention to give Chisinau a postponement with payments, without stopping supplies.“As for the terms of the contract, Gazprom usually does not disclose either the price formula itself or the terms of the contract, this is the company's principle. Initially, there was a 70/30 proportion - that is, 70% - the cost of the spot market and 30% - the cost of oil. How it has changed now is unknown,” the expert noted.
“Gazprom is a closed company and shares information with great care. And if it aggravates, then there is usually something behind it, something more than just a contradiction in prices, even more so in terms of payment,” Belogoryev concluded.
