Japan and South Korea will return to the Russian fuel and energy complex after the United States

Gromov Alexey I. Principal Director on Energy Studies, Head of the Energy Department

Alexey Gromov, Principal Director on Energy studies at the Institute for Energy and Finance, commented to RIA Novosti on the possibility for returning companies from "unfriendly" countries to the Russian oil and gas sector in case of the economic relations between Russia and the United States normalization.

"Assuming that Russia and the United States come to an agreement in one form or another, the first countries that will follow the United States in trying to resume full-fledged economic cooperation - I won't call it cooperation - with Russia will be the United States' satellite countries in Asia, primarily Japan and the Republic of Korea," Gromov suggested.

And Europe, in his opinion, will certainly monitor the development of the situation. At the same time, there are no positive signals coming from the European Union so far.
