Uzbek company is looking for liquefied gas tanks in Russia

Gromov Alexey I. Principal Director on Energy Studies, Head of the Energy Department

Alexey Gromov, Principal Director on Energy studies at the Institute for Energy and Finance, commented to the MASHNEWS Internet portal on Uzbekistan's interest in purchasing new railway tanks for LNG transportation.

"They really need this kind of railway equipment, because it must meet the safety parameters. Such a story is not so easy to make," Gromov stressed.

According to him, given that the volume of Russian gas supplies through the pipeline to Uzbekistan has been contracted (about 3 billion cubic meters), a serious increase is expected only in a year or two.
"And the neighboring country needs gas now, and therefore a request for any gas delivery options to Uzbek enterprises (by rail or tanker trucks) will be in demand. Most likely, the demand for such equipment from Uzbekistan will grow," Gromov said.
