Alexey Belogoryev, Research and Development Director of the Institute for Energy and Finance, commented to RIA Novosti and the Prime news agency on the reduction of Russian pipeline gas supplies to Europe and Moldova with the Ukrainian transit termination.
There are several options for Russian gas supplies to the unrecognized Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic, including reverse via the Trans-Balkan gas pipeline from Turkey, but they all go through the territory of Ukraine, geographically this cannot be avoided, this opinion was expressed by Alexey Belogoryev.
"In Transnistria, it is theoretically possible to organize reverse deliveries via the Trans-Balkan gas pipeline (from Turkey through Bulgaria and Romania - ed.), but after Romania it crosses the territory of the Odessa region twice, that is, it assumes the same Ukrainian transit," Belogoryev said.
