Alexey Belogoryev, Research and Development Director of the Institute for Energy and Finance, commented to InfoTEK on the start of gas re-export from Turkey to Hungary.
Alexey Belogoryev said that it is almost impossible to determine exactly where this gas was produced. It can be either Turkish, Russian, Azerbaijani or brought to Turkey in the form of LNG.
"But, most likely, it is re-export. Who exactly produced the gas can be said only on the basis of energy balances. I would like to note that supplies from Turkey do not particularly affect the country's energy security. They still have three main sources: the Balkan Stream, gas pipelines from Romania, and supplies from Austria," the expert noted.
