Alexey Belogoryev, Research and Development Director of the Institute for Energy and Finance, commented to Baltnews on the prospects for reducing global LNG prices.
"I see no reason for a serious reduction in the cost of LNG on the European market in the near future. Yes, there may be some kind of correction, but nothing more. Gas is already cheap enough, about $300 per thousand cubic meters. I don't see any prerequisites for a drop to, say, $200 per thousand cubic meters," Alexey Belogoryev explained.
"Strictly speaking, the turning point will come only at the end of 2025 or early 2026 with the commissioning of new LNG terminals from exporters. However, no one can say for sure today how strong the decline in LNG prices will be," he added.
