Sergey Kondratiev gave a comment to Pravda.ru about the operation of the Ukrainian nuclear power plants.
The head of the military-civilian administration of the Zaporozhye region, Evgeny Balitsky, announced a month ago that specialists were restoring the energy infrastructure in the liberated part of the Zaporozhye region in order to start deliveries to the Crimea.
The same was confirmed by Sergey Kondratiev, Deputy Head of the Economic Department of the Institute for Energy and Finance.
ZNPP is the largest, but not the only facility in the liberated territories, it is also Zaporizhzhya TPP, Kakhovskaya HPP and Uglegorsk TPP. Today, all these facilities operate in a single unified energy system of Ukraine.
Ukraine does not pay for the electricity generated by these power plants, their accounts are frozen, so the Zaporizhzhya NPP and others actually lend to Ukraine, and it receives "fantastic profits."
The expert noted that, according to his information, by the end of summer, ZNPP will supply electricity to the Russian energy system and consumers in the Kherson region, Zaporozhye region, and Crimea.
Sergey Kondratiev noted that nuclear safety in Ukraine is at an extremely low level, in particular, due to the lack of proper funding with a heavy load on the industry, which did not always cover even current repairs.
