Alexey Belogoryev, Research and Development Director of the Institute for Energy and Finance, commented to the Ura.ru news agency on the principles and directions of energy cooperation between Russia and foreign countries.
According to Alexey Belogoryev, it is important for Russia to maintain its developed sales markets and build new "long-term chains: somewhere to supply energy resources, and somewhere to create demand, that is, to invest in infrastructure." The authorities in Russia and other countries, reassess the risks amid of the sanctions policy of the West.
"This is especially true for China, which has even more complicated and conflictual relations with the United States in the long term. Over the past year and a half, China has significantly revised its position on risks, primarily for maritime communications. This resulted in agreements to increase the supply of Russian pipeline gas, the expert believes. — The same applies to the increased interest in the tanker fleet, which is not directly controlled by the United States and European countries. Everyone already understands that restrictions may be imposed on them, as happened with Russia."
