Alexey Belogoryev, Research and Development Director of the Institute for Energy and Finance, commented to Business FM radio station on why the sale of LUKOIL's foreign assets to Gunvor failed, and who can now buy these assets:
"The main advantage of Gunvor's offer was that it was ready to buy quickly and in a single package. Most likely, there will no longer be a buyer who decides to buy all the assets at once. At the very least, his search will be greatly complicated. We will have to sell off these assets in parts, especially since they are really very different — from risky exploration to gas stations. It can be a dozen or two dozen different companies that will apply for individual assets in different countries. Perhaps there will be American ones among them."
