Alexey Gromov, Principal Director on Energy Studies of the Institute for Energy and Finance, commented to the PRIME information agency regarding the OPEC+ strategy in the current situation on the global oil market.
The refusal of OPEC + to change the parameters of the agreement on limiting oil production is justified and is explained by two reasons: fundamental conditions in the market and geopolitical risks, Alexey Gromov told RIA Novosti.
“I think that such a cautious position of OPEC + as a whole corresponds to the moment in terms of fundamental factors. And it also reflects the expectation, as it seems to me, of the countries participating in the agreement, how the geopolitical situation in the world will unfold,” Gromov believes.
