Alexey Gromov, Principal Director on Energy studies at the Institute for Energy and Finance, commented to the Oil and Gas Vertical magazine on the promising areas for the Russian fuel and energy complex development as part of the preparation of an editorial article "An Ordinary Miracle of the Energy Transition".
"The main points of growth for the Russian fuel and energy sector are investments in its technological re–equipment and new production and transport infrastructure, including for the advanced development of related high-conversion industries, primarily in the field of petrochemistry," Alexey Gromov notes.
"I would stop betting on an export alternative to the fuel and energy sector as a panacea, but would focus our efforts on its technological modernization in the context of import substitution of critical technologies and would use its potential, including investment, for the development of related industries of higher conversion, such as petrochemistry, oil and gas and energy engineering, as well as to further stimulate digitalization and the introduction of AI into the Russian economy," the expert says.
