Oil and gas revenues of Russia will grow in 2022

26 April 2022

Salikhov Marcel R. President, Principal Director on Economic Studies, Head of the Economic Department

Marcel Salikhov, Director of the HSE Center for Economic Expertise, commented on the growth of Russia's oil and gas revenues this year to the Argumenty i Fakty publication.

Russia's oil and gas revenues will grow in 2022, the country will receive at least 9 trillion rubles from the sale of hydrocarbons, Marcel Salikhov told AiF.

According to the expert, the growth in income is associated with an increase in the price of oil and gas products. But the loss of part of the sales markets in the future will lead to a reduction in revenue.

“In April 2021, the average price of Brent oil was $64 per barrel (Urals - $63), in April of this year, the average price of Brent was about $105 per barrel – an increase of 64%. Because of this, the oil and gas revenues of the budget this year will be higher than last year, even with a reduction in physical volumes,” Salikhov says.
