Alexey Belogoryev, Research and Development Director of the Institute for Energy and Finance, commented to RIA Novosti and the Prime news agency on the prospect of introducing external management and nationalization of LUKOIL refineries in Bulgaria and Romania.
In his opinion, a compromise will be reached. Even if the Trump government doesn't fully understand the importance of assets, Romania and Bulgaria have an opportunity to reach one."The operational activities of both refineries will continue. Most likely, external management will be introduced, and the US Treasury will allow this, as was the case in Germany. Especially if the name "Lukoil" will no longer appear," Alexey Belogoryev says.
