China needs the "Power of Siberia-2", it's just that the Celestial Empire is waiting for favorable conditions

Alexey Gromov, Principal Director on Energy Studies of the Institute for Energy and Finance, commented to the Nakanune.ru Internet portal on the prospects for the implementation of the Power of Siberia - 2 project:

The benefits for China are obvious. Unlike Power of Siberia 1, gas through Power of Siberia 2 will come from fields in Western Siberia, their resource base is known, there is no competition for them with Western Europe. China will sooner or later agree to the implementation of the project. Another thing is that the Celestial Empire will wait for Russia to offer the most favorable price terms.

As far as Russia is concerned, the project is also important for us — we will be able to sell serious volumes of gas in the long term. We must be aware that the profitability of Russian gas exports in the event of redirecting its basis to China will be lower than on the European market. But for us, there is nothing wrong with that. Even if we sign all the documents now, in fact, gas will be supplied to the PRC around 2030. Around this time, even if there were no NWO, most contracts for gas supplies to the EU countries would expire. At the same time, the Europeans planned to drastically reduce purchases of Russian gas. The special operation only accelerated the energy trends that were forming between Russia and the EU and Russia and China.
