Alexey Belogoryev, Research and Development Director of the Institute for Energy and Finance, commented to RIA Novosti on the possibilities of resuming gas supplies to Pridnestrovie.
If we are talking about the purchase of gas in Europe using some kind of exchange schemes, then supplies from Ukraine through the Alekseevka GIS in northwestern Moldova and from Romania via the Iasi-Ungheni gas pipeline are also possible, the expert added."If we are talking about Russian gas, there are only two options: the resumption of Ukrainian transit via the traditional route to GIS Grebeniki, or delivery via the Turkish Stream and further transit through the territory of five countries – Turkey, Bulgaria, Romania, Ukraine (two short sections in the Odessa region) and right-bank Moldova. The route is expensive, complicated and requires coordination with all the countries mentioned, including Ukraine," Belogoryev commented.
"In both cases, Pridnestrovie will be heavily dependent on Chisinau," he stressed.
