Alexey Belogoryev, Research and Development Director of the Institute for Energy and Finance, commented to RBC on the consequences of China's retaliatory customs duties against the United States for mutual and global energy trade.
The introduction of retaliatory duties by China may lead to a complete halt in the supply of American energy resources to the country, Alexei Belogoryev believes.
The total duty on imports of American oil, LNG, and coal to China will be 44-49%. However, such a stop would not be critical for either China or the United States, the expert believes.
