Germany stopped certification of Nord Stream 2

Marcel Salikhov, President of the Institute for Energy and Finance, commented to The Bell on the situation with the Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline.

European companies lent money to the gas pipeline operator Nord Stream 2 AG, which is 100% owned by Gazprom, Marcel Salikhov, Principal Director on Economic Studies of the Institute for Energy and Finance, says.

“Even if the project is frozen, theoretically Gazprom can continue to service this debt. CFOs of European companies have said that they will have to degrade the quality of these assets, but without details,” the analyst said
