The Monocle magazine (No. 2 (1318), October 30 – November 5, 2023) published an article " Gazprom: a challenge for two decades" with comments by Alexey Belogoryev, Research and Development Director of the Institute for Energy and Finance on the growth points for Gazprom.
"The main point of Gazprom's revenue growth, which the company apparently expects in the coming years, is an increase in domestic gas prices, and an increase of the company presence in the domestic network gas market, where its positions have noticeably weakened in recent years under the onslaught of Rosneft and NOVATEK," Alexey Belogoryev believes. — All Gazprom's ambitious export projects until 2030 involve large costs, and the profit growth can be generated mainly by the Russian market. And the government is still following the path of satisfying Gazprom's requests, indexing regulated gas prices at a faster pace. But Gazprom also faces a major struggle here, both with independent producers and with consumers who have yet to have their say."
