Alexey Belogoryev, Research and Development Director of the Institute for Energy and Finance, commented to Business FM on whether the India-EU trade agreement will affect the ban on India importing petroleum products produced from Russian oil to the EU:
"Importers will have to show the customs authorities the entire chain of origin of these products so that there is no formal Russian presence. This ban can be circumvented, there are different gray schemes and options for how to do this, so this is not an insurmountable obstacle. I don't think this issue was somehow discussed in the framework of the agreement that was being developed."
