Alexey Belogoryev, Research and Development Director of the Institute for Energy and Finance, commented to the Vedomosti newspaper on the prospects for exporting Russian pipeline and liquefied natural gas in 2026.
According to the Institute of Energy and Finance, in 2025, Europe's share in Russian LNG exports for the first time was less than half – about 44%, Alexey Belogoryev says. The share of exports to Asia will grow in 2026, the expert believes.
According to his estimates, exports of Russian liquefied natural gas to the EU in 2026 will amount to 17-19 billion cubic meters. In 2025, supplies, according to the IEF, amounted to 18.9 billion cubic meters.
