Alexey Gromov gave a commentary to Sputnik radio about the reasons for the demand for Russian grade Urals oil on the world market.
Russian oil has two advantages that allow it to be exported in large enough volumes, despite the sanctions. What makes Urals brand unique?
Anti-Russian sanctions significantly complicate the supply of Urals oil to foreign consumers, but the unique properties of this fuel make it almost indispensable in the European market, Gromov believes. According to him, oil refineries (refineries) in Europe were initially focused on processing Russian oil.
Not only Europe is ready to buy Russian energy resources, and Urals oil supplies can be successfully redirected from West to East, the expert continued. This is another valuable feature of the Russian brand as an export product, he added.“Russian oil is extremely difficult to replace on the European market. The point is not only that it is impossible to find an adequate amount of oil to replace Russian oil. Our oil (Urals brand. — Ed.) is ideal for European refineries in terms of its physical and chemical parameters. These enterprises were initially focused specifically on Russian grades of Urals oil," he explained.
"Over the past few weeks (since the start of a new round of sanctions against Russia. - Ed. note), Russian companies have partially managed to reconfigure their supply chains to redirect Russian oil to buyers in other regions of the world. This was done in order to supply oil to those countries that ready to buy it with pleasure. At the very beginning, it was fraught with risks, but now the supply system is starting to get better, "Gromov expressed this opinion.
