Alexey Belogoryev, Research and Development Director of the Institute for Energy and Finance, commented to the "Mash. Industry" internet portal on the Russian energy facilities protection from UAV attacks.
The expert believes that repelling attacks by UAVs launched for military or terrorist purposes is not really a matter for private security companies, but a national threat."There are tens of thousands of fuel and energy facilities in Russia that potentially require protection from UAVs. It is impossible for everyone to install means of detecting and suppressing drones, especially since these are large additional costs. In any case, it requires a lot of time and government co-financing and/or significant tax benefits for the purchase of such funds. So far, this has not happened," Alexey Belogoryev emphasizes.
"There should be well-established cooperation between the Ministry of Defense, Rosgvardiya and energy companies. According to company reviews, there are still difficulties with this. But private security companies, of course, should be able to counteract this threat," Belogoryev explains.
