Will Russia build a new gas pipeline to Turkey and what for?

Alexey Belogoryev, Deputy Principal Director on Energy Studies at the Institute for Energy and Finance, commented to the Business FM radio station on the prospects for building new gas pipelines to supply Russian gas to Europe in transit through Turkey.

“The construction of new facilities, especially such expensive, underwater ones, when the EU plans to completely abandon Russian gas imports by 2027, and in fact by 2025, looks rather strange, very risky economic decision. That is, in order to make an investment decision for such projects, it is necessary to be sure of the demand.”
