Belogoryev Alexey M. Research and Development Director, Director of the Center for Energy strategic analysis and forecasting

Alexey Belogoryev, Research and Development Director of the Institute for Energy and Finance, commented to Rossiyskaya Gazeta on the prospects for Russia's energy cooperation with the BRICS countries.

"China is currently in a tough confrontation with the United States. And this year there are clear signs that China is showing much greater interest in supplying Russian oil and gas than it was back in 2024," Alexey Belogoryev said.

"India has always been sensitive to sanctions and does not like to buy sanctioned goods," the expert added. - But in this case, the United States did not offer anything in return and, on the whole, put the country's government in an extremely uncomfortable position. India will continue to trade with Russia, at least as long as there is a discount on our oil."
