Sergey Kondratiev commented to the Delovoy Peterburg publication on the development of nuclear engineering in Russia.
Buying a stake in an existing contractor is a more practical way to enter the nuclear power plant service industry than opening a new legal entity. After all, TekhAtomStroy LLC has held ten-year licenses for the construction and operation of nuclear installations since July 2014.
Sergey Kondratiev, deputy head of the economic department at the Institute for Energy and Finance, confirms that this is a fairly logical path. According to him, the barriers for new companies in the industry are quite serious - both in terms of licensing and in terms of the need to select employees with relevant experience.
