Alexey Gromov, Principal Director on Energy studies at the Institute for Energy and Finance, commented on the upcoming easing of the tax burden for Gazprom to the Novye Izvestia Internet portal.
Alexey Gromov reminds:
— The social gasification program needs to be revived. This is a direct order from the president and one of the conditions for obtaining a tax deduction, so that Gazprom will step up work in this area and ensure the implementation of the program. In all regions of Russia, there are incomplete orders from the president. Gazprom complained to the government that it did not have enough investment resources to gasify the last mile.
— The Power of Siberia–2 project is on the table. So far, no final political decision has been made on it, much less a final investment decision. And I do not rule out that such a decision will be made in 2026, in any case, China's interest in this project remains quite high, everything depends on the commercial side of the issue. But if this project goes ahead, then investment resources will be needed for its implementation," Alexey Gromov notes.
