The 5th International Online Conference "Risk Management in Energy - 2022", organized by the Institute for Energy and Finance, was held on September 22, 2022, with the support of the Russian Ministry of Energy and the Organization of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation (BSEC).

Anatoly Yanovsky, Assistant to the Chief of the Presidential Executive Office of the Russian Federation, opened the Plenary session of the Conference with his speech titled “The Global Energy Security and Energy Transition: Problems and Risks”.

Also, within the framework of the plenary session “Challenges of Providin Energy Security and Risks of the Global Energy Transition: Issues of Adaptation, Sustainability and Transition”, which was moderated by Alexey Gromov, Principal Director on Energy Studies of the Institute for Energy and Finance, was attended by the Deputy Minister of Energy of the Russian Federation Sergey Mochalnikov, Deputy Secretary General of the Organization of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation (BSEC) Dimitrios Rallis, Director General for International Relations of the Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources of Turkey Ozturk Selvitop, Director of Oil & Natural Gas Corporation Kumar Srivastava (India), Executive Director of Monenco Iran Consulting Engineers Alireza Shirani (Iran) , Ambassador-at-Large of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Yury Sentyurin, Energy Econometrician of the Gas Exporting Countries Forum (GECF) Alexander Ermakov.

The Conference participants discussed approaches to overcoming the consequences of sanctions and solving the most difficult challenges of ensuring energy security in terms of the "energy transition", considered the possible solutions for diversifying sources, routes and methods of energy supply taking into account new geopolitical and economic realities, exchanged by advanced international experience and best practices in risk management in the energy industry and considered other urgent items.
