The Energy Policy journal published an article by Alexey Gromov, Principal Director on Energy studies at the Institute for Energy and Finance, "New Prospects for Russian-Iranian Gas Cooperation: the Gas Hub and the Caspian Stream Project" (Energy Policy, No. 12(203), December 2024, pp. 20-33).

The article analyzes the prospects of Russian-Iranian gas cooperation in the context of the Iranian gas hub the creation and construction of a gas pipeline system under the Caspian Sea to supply Russian gas through Iran to South Asia and the Middle East. A special attention is paid to the current specifics of Iran's gas transportation infrastructure, issues of swap trading in pipeline gas, as well as an assessment of of the region's gas market potential and the economic and legal aspects of the possible construction of the gas pipeline from Russia to Iran under the Caspian Sea.
