Marcel Salikhov, President of the Institute, spoke as the Director of the Center for Economic Expertise at the Higher School of Economics in the program “Money. Direct Line” of the Dozhd TV channel on the topic of short-term prospects for the Russian economy development in terms of ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.
It was discussed how the ruble exchange rate may change next year, how it’ll be affected by the OPEC + countries' increase in oil production and possible new US sanctions, annual inflation and vaccination against coronavirus. It also was considered, how far the end of the oil era is, and how it is associated with the pandemic, as well as the HSE experts proposal on the digital transformation of the state apparatus with simultaneous optimization of officials.
