Europe was predicted to collapse with the introduction of a prices ceiling for Russian gas

Sergey Kondratiev, Deputy head of the Economic Department, gave a comment to RenTV about the introduction of a "price ceiling" for Russian gas in the EU.

Sergey Kondratiev, Deputy Head of the Economic Department of the Institute for Energy and Finance, told REN TV how the introduction of a ceiling on prices for Russian gas and oil could turn out.

"There are two different stories here: the ceiling of prices for Russian gas and oil. If we are talking about gas, the European Commission has been discussing price cuts for a long time. Indeed, the European Commission may go for the introduction of a price ceiling. But the problem for Europe will be that Gazprom is very likely to stop supplies to countries that follow this restriction," the expert believes.
