Sergey Kondratiev, Principal Director on Economic Studies at the Institute for Energy and Finance, made comments to the TASS news agency on the diesel fuel demand in the agro-industrial complex of Russia.
MOSCOW, October 10. /TASS/. The harvesting campaign is finishing this year amid the record high prices for fuels and lubricants. Despite this, the harvesting in the country is being completed on schedule, the authorities told TASS, while not ruling out an increase in prices for final products due to overpayment for fuel.
According to Kondratiev, farmers have problems due to the fact that the agro-industrial complex still operates in the paradigm of limits and planned prices.
"Many large farms could enter the market and hedge their risks, but often they still work with wheels, buying fuel at the nearest oil depot," the expert said.
