Sergey Kondratiev, Principal Director on Economic Studies at the Institute for Energy and Finance, commented to the TASS news agency on the dynamics of coal prices in Russia.

The decline in wholesale prices within Russia shows that prices correctly reflect current market conditions, Sergey Kondratiev said. According to him, this is especially important in the context of high price volatility in foreign markets and a high proportion of domestic consumers of coal subject to price regulation, for whom predictability and clarity of prices are especially important.
