Sergey Kondratiev, Principal Director on Economic Studies at the Institute for Energy and Finance, commented to the Prime news agency on gas supplies to Moldova.
Sergey Kondratiev agrees that the rejection of Russian fuel is due to Moldova's unwillingness to discuss the payment of a debt of $ 700 million. Now, the cost of supplies to Moldova is likely to be tied to prices at hubs in Central Europe, the expert argues. The contract price may exceed $ 450 per thousand cubic meters — one and a half times higher than the prices of the Russian contract.
