Sergey Kondratiev, Principal Director on Economic Studies at the Institute for Energy and Finance, commented to the TASS news agency on the dynamics of retail prices for motor gasoline.
Sergey Kondratiev said that retail gasoline prices have remained stable this week, and since the beginning of the year, the increase in fuel prices at filling stations has been significantly lower than general inflation.
According to him, retail prices for diesel fuel remain below the level of 2022, which indicates a stable situation in this market, which is extremely important for the development of the economy, since the cost of diesel fuel determines the costs of road carriers, agricultural organizations, retail trade and other basic sectors of the economy."I think that price stability in the retail segment is now supported by an increase in supply, as well as positive market expectations associated with new government initiatives to increase exchange sales and increase the transparency of the segment," the expert noted.
