«… Commenting on the initiatives of Lithuania in a conversation with Baltnews.lt, Sergey Kondratiev Deputy Head of the Economic Department of the Institute for Energy and Finance noted that the Republic is concentrating exclusively on the purpose of supplying energy resources from the other countries, but not from Russia, ignoring the cost of energy resources and possible consequences for the economy and consumers.
«There have been proposals to use the LNG terminal in Klaipeda to supply energy resources to Latvia, but they did not meet with much enthusiasm from the neighbors. I must say that in this regard, many initiatives of Lithuania often refer to two issues, that Lithuania would either like them to be partially financed by neighbors in the Baltic States, or assistance would be received from the EU infrastructure funds. In neither case, Lithuania is not very successful," said Kondratiev.»
