Sergey Kondratiev, Principal Director on Economic Studies at the Institute for Energy and Finance, commented to the Kommersant newspaper about Russian gas supplies to Finland.
Finnish Gasum terminated a long-term contract with Gazprom Export for the supply of pipeline gas, the Finnish company announced on May 22. The contract was to be valid until December 31, 2031.
Sergey Kondratiev believes that some of the counterparties in the EU will still follow the path of Gasum. But these will be companies that have already stopped buying Russian gas, so we should not expect a significant reduction in its supply to the EU compared to current levels, he said.
