Sergey Kondratiev, Principal Director on Economic Studies at the Institute for Energy and Finance, made comments to the Sputnik Kazakhstan radio station on the nuclear power plant construction in Kazakhstan.
"It is important that we have a common scientific and engineering school, common technical standards and regulations. NPP is a technologically complex project and often foreign firms spend a lot of time adapting their equipment to the technical standards and requirements of the country where the project is being implemented. In the case of Russia and Kazakhstan, we initially speak the same language - thanks to a common past and joint work in the EAEU. And this simplifies communication and reduces costs – not only time, but also financial," Sergey Kondratiev said.
