Sergey Kondratiev, Deputy Head of the Economic Department of the Institute for Energy and Finance gave comments to the analytical portal RuBaltic on the prospects of the BRELL power interconnection:

«Whatever the goals of the leadership of the Baltic states, ultimately the costs will be borne by consumers: the cost of building infrastructure will be included in the price of electricity… To disconnect from Russia and join a new market, you need to incur at least hundreds of millions dollars in capital costs.»
