Professional experience
Before joining BP in 2006, he worked as a senior economist at the World Bank (1993 − 2006) and a senior researcher at the Institute of the USA and Canada of the Russian Academy of Sciences (1982 − 1993).
He led economic and energy research in the republics of the former USSR and advised the BP Group of companies on economic policy issues in these countries. He also prepared materials on the European gas market, global oil and gas reserves and gas supplies for BP's annual statistical review of world energy and forecast of global energy development.
From 2010 to November 2020, he held the position of BP Vice President in Russia.
He is a member of the Expert Council under the Government of the Russian Federation.
Since 2021, he has been the Chief Adviser to the Director General of the Russian Energy Agency of the Ministry of Energy of Russia.
