For twelve months in a row, we have been introducing you to the most important processes in the global and Russian economies and presenting their independent analysis. Each time we strive to give a deep analysis of the phenomena under consideration and fit it in an extremely succinct form. We hope that our work has been helpful to you this year.

The outgoing year turned out to be very difficult. Still, 2009 as a whole turned out to be easier than feared in winter. We would all like to be participants and witnesses of the World recovery in 2010, but so far the economies of many countries face very serious challenges.

The coming year will be difficult. We meet him in an environment of a huge spread of forecasts — this is natural for the first months after the bottom peak. But the main thing is that we are all full of optimism and energy — and this is the main factor of success.

In the current issue of the Monitoring, we present forecasts for the development of the world economy in 2010 and analyze the state of the main oil and gas markets, on which the rise of Russia’s economy largely depends.

Once again, we pay attention to the outcomes of the UN Climate Conference, noting that, in addition to combating emissions, it is extremely important not to forget to address pressing environmental problems.
