Alexey Gromov, Principal Director on Energy Studies of the Institute for Energy and Finance, gave a comment to Pravda.ru about the prospects for the EU to completely abandon the import of Russian energy sources.
"This is just a political gesture of the European Parliament aimed at demonstrating the political attitude of European deputies to the situation in Ukraine. I do not believe that a total ban on the supply of all types of Russian energy resources to the countries of the European Union will be implemented, because it is physically impossible. There is no possibility find an alternative in full to Russian gas, Russian oil products, and even Russian oil and Russian coal," the expert explained.
