Alexey Gromov, Principal Director on Energy Studies at the Institute for Energy and Finance, commented to the Federal Press Internet portal regarding the growth in demand for Russian diesel fuel in the United States.
The US market is one of the largest for Russian diesel fuel supplies. American consumers traditionally buy Russian oil products, which suit them in terms of price / quality ratio, Alexey Gromov recalls.
In his opinion, the sharp increase in supplies at the moment is associated with market factors.
Nothing revolutionary will happen in the future, Gromov is sure. The United States will not refuse fuel supplies from Russia, but there is no need to maintain record volumes of purchases after the normalization of the situation with oil refining.“Now in the USA there are problems at the refinery in Texas, where a cold anticyclone has come. At the same time, demand from consumers increased. Several factors coincided - a decrease in refining and traditionally high demand during this period, plus the traditionally high popularity of Russian oil products on the American market,” the expert says.
